In years gone by I would often hear people talking about the ‘members only’ clubs that they belonged to and all the wondrous benefits they enjoyed. “Oh but it’s so old and esteemed” went the typical conversation, “it’s been around for well over 100 years now.”

Noses turned up, they would babble on about the club’s exclusivity and all the perks that came with being a member. I remember these conversations, because I’ve heard them recycled more recently when people talk about the Cape Town Club. I’m not having a dig at the Cape Town Club here, I just cannot relate a club that insists on long trousers during 35 degree summer heat.

100 years old, you say? 100 years outdated..

Sorry folks – last time I checked it was 2016, and if you ask around until you’re blue in the face you won’t find a decent members’ club that offers the sort of things professionals are after these days. Sure, people have talked about it, but who has actually followed through on all that chat and made something happen?

Then we came across the game-changer, the exclusive club that ticks the boxes people are looking for in this day and age. You might find places with ‘desk share’ or ‘free wi-fi’ but they don’t have a pool. Or you find a place with a pool and no gym. Etc. Etc.

If you happen to find yourself in the Cape Town CBD rather often you will no doubt have heard about Inner City Ideas Cartel, but you might be less familiar with what it means to be a Cartel House member.

Nestled on 113 Loop Street, slap-bang in the middle of where it’s all happening, you’ll find Cartel House. Forget about sitting in a coffee shop somewhere nursing your drink for the free WiFi, now you can pick your office for the day and make it rain.

Poolside, rooftop bar, library, coffee bar, boardrooms for meetings, lounges on each of the seven floors, a concierge service – the list goes on, just move around as you see fit and stay online throughout.

If you’re feeling peckish how about lunch delivered to wherever you are in the building? Too easy, don’t mind if I do..

We should also mention the state of the art gym that’s being built as we speak, meaning you can get in that midday sweat before showering and being back to your best for the afternoon session. And ladies… don’t fret, there’s a blow-dry bar for your luscious locks.

The list of perks really does go on, so we suggest you start HERE and have a look at what you’re in store for.

Cartel House isn’t trying to be something it’s not – no set dress code, no stuffy and outdated rules – it’s a members’ club that has carefully researched what the good folk of Cape Town and entrepreneurs in general are after – and has delivered substantially on those needs.

15% off all Weylandts products, 15% off Stokperd furniture, free parking at the Cape Quarter between 6pm and 8am, free brand analysis from some of the country’s finest business minds – you know, just that standard stuff that no one else in the game comes close to offering.

So what’s it all going to set you back – that’s always the clincher, isn’t it?

How about R1 500 per month?

Think about it – that’s a place to do business, your gym membership covered, Wi-Fi, premium coffee access, a rooftop bar and pool to drink to a job well done and all those other perks rolled into one – makes sense right?

If you want to apply for membership you’ll need to head over HERE and fill in that application.

Good luck, you’re one step closer to being a member of a club that isn’t about 50 years outdated.

Membership is limited and the price WILL increase in the near future – get in at R1 500 now and mock your mates later.
