  • Noordhoek Is Fuming After A Local Man Was Arrested For ‘Healing People’

I recently told my mom that if I was diagnosed with cancer, I would try the delicious Mary Jane at first. Not only do I smoke it every now and then, but I fully believe in the healing properties it provides.

While some people would rather not smoke the plant, it’s no surprise there are people looking out for their interests by providing cannabis oil for healing purposes.

But, after a tip off, a Noordhoek man’s home was raided on Saturday morning at 2AM. He has since appeared in the Simon’s Town Magistrate’s Court on charges of possession of cannabis.

Ten policemen in five vans rocked up to the home, arresting Simon Hill after allegedly finding some plants and cannabis oil. He was then taken to Fish Hoek police station.

The case has been postponed until 5 July, as they still need to get the evidence and the police docket, according to Hill’s lawyer, Simon Booth.

His wife, Sonette Hill, posted this on Facebook, which was widely shared and later deleted. It read:

At 2am this morning, we had a visit by 10 policemen, who arrived in five cars. Thankfully our dogs behaved. An informer had told the police that we sell medical cannabis oil.

Thankfully, on my insistence, after offering a round of tea and coffee they searched our entire six-bedroomed home in Noordhaven without waking our three children (miracle!) They did wake our international AirBnB guest!

They left with my darling husband in the back of the van to Fish Hoek police station. They found three small jars of oil and two small Indica plants. Price to pay for healing people? I will have to educate our three boys about the way the world works when they wake up to find dad missing.

Still not a fan of the green? If your reasoning is because it’s illegal, then you should maybe think of the reasons as to why it should be legalised. This podcast over HERE might change your mind.

If you have personal reasons towards it’s legality, respect. But just remember, not everyone is the same.
