  • Zuckerberg Bought 700 Acres On This Island – Now He’s Building A Wall

Before we go any further let’s establish a key difference between Zuckerberg building a wall and Donald Trump building a wall.

Zuckerberg is funding his own efforts, whereas Trump is somehow determined to make Mexico pay for his.

You want to know how that sits with the people of Mexico? Let’s ask former president Vicente Fox:

Well played sir, we share those sentiments.

Anyway we’re here to talk about Zuck and his island, with Huffington Post reporting:

Back in 2014, Zuckerberg bought a 700-acre property on the [Hawaiian island of Kauai] for more than 100 million dollars…The beachfront property, located on Kauai’s northeast shore, is a huge chunk of land — and Zuckerberg, 32, reportedly wants to make it as private as possible.

Now that the 6-foot-high wall is under construction along the perimeter of the property, some of Zuckerberg’s island neighbors [sic] are voicing their concerns, saying the wall blocks both the ocean view and the breeze.

“The feeling of it is really oppressive. It’s immense,” local resident Gy Hall told Kauai newspaper The Garden Island. “It’s really sad that somebody would come in, and buy a huge piece of land and the first thing they do is cut off this view that’s been available and appreciative by the community here for years.”

The wall is reportedly being built as a sound barrier for road noise. The total length is undetermined, but the wall is apparently legal.

The bad news for the privacy-seeking multi-billionaire? Because all of Hawaii’s beaches are public, he won’t be able to build that wall all the way to the sandy shoreline.

Sorry bud, you’ll be sharing the beach with the plebs whether you like it or not.
