America just celebrated its last Independence Day under Barack Obama, and I guess it’s a case of you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.
After a speech about what the day (and the concept of independence) means to the country, he took it upon himself to take those vocal chords for a stretch.
He had some decent company too, with this from TIME:
Flanked by rapper Kendrick Lamar and singer Janelle Monáe, who performed on the night, Obama proceeded to lead the crowd in a chorus of “Happy Birthday” to his eldest daughter Malia, who happens to be born on America’s Independence Day and turned 18 this year.
You may as well give a full listen to what B-Rack has to say, but if you’re all about the birthday singing then jump to the 3:50 mark or so.
