The Boks might have spluttered to a series win against Ireland, but one thing we can usually count on here at home is quality schoolboy rugby.

We know that you can catch the odd game on Supersport now and again, but now school sport is set for a massive shakeup.

That’s because School Sport Live (SSL) have entered the fray, and they’re doing things very differently.

They’re a platform on YouTube (their channel HERE) that films and LIVE streams schoolboy rugby and other sport online, so that anyone in any part of the world with an Internet connection can watch games and sport live.

It’s amazing that we’ve taken this long to get to this point, and thankfully someone is now stepping up to the plate in a big way and showing off the young talent this country has to offer.

What’s even cooler is the SSL Academy, where the schoolkids are trained and equipped to handle and operate cameras in the field, so maybe we’ll have some budding filmmakers in the years to come.

All this is good news for rugby fans looking to avoid work post-lunch today, because there’s a cracker of a game kicking off at 1PM. We’re talking Bishops versus Kingswood, two heavyweights of schoolboy rugga, which is the perfect chance to park off at the desk and pop in the headphones.
