If ever you wanted proof that criminals have little value for live, especially those of the police trying to bring them to justice, then look no further.

This cop on a motorbike can count himself lucky that he wasn’t up against a sharpshooter, because just after the one-minute mark you can hear a number of gunshots ring out.

The altercation took place on Meerkat Street in Akasia, with this below from News24:

First the officer sees a blue BMW from the opposite side of another road road. He then turns around at which point the suspects reverse and attempt to knock him off his motorbike.

Failing that the suspects, who allegedly robbed a house, speed off and the officer gives chase.

Though he loses sight of the suspects the lone officer continues to tail the suspects at speed, while calling for back-up.

He eventually meets them in a side road, at which points one of the suspects emerges from the car and several shots directed at the officer ring out.

It isn’t known at this point whether the suspects were apprehended, although I think we can all agree this cop deserves a cold ale to soothe those nerves.
