There’s nothing like a hashtag to create some buzz around a new ad campaign, something we’ve seen a number of times with our national sports teams.
Remember #ProteaFire? We dig you guys, but can you just sack Russell Domingo already and stop this charade?
The latest from the Boks is #LoveRugby, which we told you about a while back with THIS pretty cool video. Now they’re back with another video, and this time it’s a real gem that involves hitchhiking and lots of laughs.
A quick write-up from the YouTube video:
When the Springbok squad assembled at Cape Town International Airport in May for their first ever Team assembly with Allister Coetzee, the Springbok coach had a special surprise in store for his players.
Instead of making their way to training camp in Stellenbosch aboard the luxury team bus, the Boks were instructed to hit the streets of Cape Town to perform some special tasks, armed with only their cellphones and a handheld camera.
With the deadline of the first team session looming, players had to make some creative and somewhat desperate decisions to get to Stellenbosch on time.
All in all SA Rugby has done pretty well with this one, so settle in and enjoy.
