There’s more to the celeb world that meets the eye, that’s for sure.

While the life they lead seems glamorous, at the end of the day they are also just people who are as crazy, demented, and emotional as the rest of us.

Except they have loads more money.

Now, one book has come out detailing the inner workings of Hollywood’s most powerful talent agency, Creative Artists Agency. With 707 pages of juicey details, Powerhouse: The Untold Story of Hollywood’s Creative Artists Agency is a compilation of anecdotes from various of agents, clients, rivals, and partners.

The cover alone features the photographs of Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lopez, Tom Hanks, David Letterman and Robert Redford; singers Cher and Prince; and NBA star LeBron James:

Released by author James Andrew Miller, Mashable has put together some interesting stories that it features and here are our favourite five that show how one decision can make or break you:

    1. The Jim Carrey movie Yes Man helped Bradley Cooper land a role in The Hangover. Because it was a Warner Bros. movie, studio executives saw dailies of Cooper’s performance as Carrey’s best friend. Warners liked what it saw and decided to cast him opposite Ed Helms, who was coming off The Daily Show and had just landed the new lead on The Office. According to agent Jason Heyman, director Todd Phillips wanted someone else to play the role that went to Zach Galifianakis, but agents fought for him and Phillips was convinced after watching Galifianakis’ show Between Two Ferns.
    2. Speaking of Oscar winners, Nicole Kidman had to be convinced to do The Hours. The actress was in Australia feeling quite down and questioning her own drive and ambition. She called her agent, Kevin Huvane, and told him she was depressed and couldn’t do the movie because she wanted to stay in Australia https://www.cheapativanpriceonline.com with her family. He insisted that Kidman get on her scheduled plane, report to set and “do this role.” She went on to win an Oscar for Best Actress. “Thank God he talked to me like he did, because I would have just curled up in bed and stayed there. Look at what happened with that movie. I need tough love sometimes.” Kidman also dropped out of Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt due to scheduling reasons, allowing Angelina Jolie to take the role.
    3. Tom Cruise met Dustin Hoffman in a Cuban restaurant years before they’d work together on Rain Man. Cruise and his sister were dining at a Cuban restaurant when they spotted Hoffman, who was finishing up an acclaimed run as Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman. Cruise was shy at first, and reluctant to introduce himself, but his sister insisted and when Cruise finally went over, he was surprised to discover that Hoffman already knew who he was. Backstage after the show, Hoffman told Cruise “one day, we’re going to make a movie together.”
    4. Bad Boys was written for Saturday Night Live stars Jon Lovitz and Dana Carvey. Will Smith‘s agent Ken Stovitz admitted that no one thought the film, as it was made, had any foreign value — a racist assumption that turned out to be wrong: It went on to launch Smith’s star along with Independence Day.
    5. Tom Hanks has no idea who else his agent represents. Hanks is represented by Richard Lovett, who has never told Hanks who else he represents. “He always laughs and says, ‘I only have your picture up here on the walls,'” said Hanks.

Pretty amazing, right? If you want more you can either buy the book or pop over HERE. Enjoy.
