From changing up watch straps, to modernising faces, now that the first generations have come and gone the next generation has something to work off.
And that’s just what Nixon has done.
It may be bright, and it may be hefty, but The Mission has been made to endure everything that sports extremists can put it through, working on previous designs to make this one just that much better.
Here’s what Stuff had to say about it:
With smarts that’ll appeal to skiers and surfers, 100m water resistance and built-in GPS, it’s about as ready for anything as Android Wear gets.
Everything is made from stainless steel, so it’ll withstand a beating (or a wipeout, if you’re surgically attached to your surfboard), and the rugged rubber strap is just as tough. It’s a comfortable fit, too.
The side button is equally chunky, so you can still press it while you’re wearing ski gloves. It’ll switch into low power mode if you hold it down, or jump back through menus if you’re swiping through Android Wear.
And don’t worry, you can get colours other than orange.
But that’s just the hardware, what about the soft?
The Mission app tracks surfing and skiing locations for weather and snow or water conditions, so you know when’s the best time to grab your board or hit the slopes.
It’s built into the watch face, so you can see important info like snowfall or waves at a glance, or you can open the app for more details.
There’s no shortage of sensors inside The Mission, with a thermometer, altimeter, barometer and compass on top of the usual gyroscope and accelerometer. There’s GPS on-board too.
Check out the watch in motion below and try not get too lus for some times in the waves:

The Mission is being released on the 10 October (today) by the California-based watch and accessories brand and is only available overseas.
Of course, if your lifestyle demands such an addition, there’s no use waiting for it to be released in SA. Use these guys and you’re sorted for your international imports.
