  • Panic As Gorilla Escapes Enclosure At London Zoo [Videos]

When breaking news announced a gorilla had escaped from London Zoo yesterday, flashbacks of that awful Harambe saga worried many.

    Would the gorilla survive?

Thank the high heavens it did.

According to the UK’s Independent, the gorilla, known affectionally as Kumbuka, broke out into a public keeper area, so no one from the watching public came into harm.

The zoo, however, did put everyone on lockdown – hence this video showing the situation:

What happened? No one really knows. The gorilla had recently been put on a diet though, so many think he may have been protesting this.

Kumbuka had become agitated and managed to break an already cracked window of his enclosure.

A short while before he escaped, Kumbuka was captured smashing against the glass:

A spokesman for the zoo said Kumbuka was given chocolate chip muffins – his favourite treat – when he regained consciousness after being tranquillised.

Already, there’s a Kumbuka Twitter account:
