Knitting is generally considered an older woman’s hobby.
Either taken up by them, or younger women who really like crafts, creations are received with cute admiration when shown off to close friends because no one really cares about the ninth scarf you knitted this month.
But then there’s the Glitter Knitter.
Known as StevenBe (Steven Berg), the fibre artisan holds a wealth of experience, creating daring styles with daring colours to produce daring items.
Did we mention that he’s daring?
He holds a firm belief in “the transformative power of creativity that knitting or crocheting offers to all who are brave enough to push the boundaries,” explains Lavender Magazine, and he is coming to South Africa (again) to share his passion.
Along with Mohair South Africa (rumour has it mohair is his favourite fibre) they will visit places such as Pretoria, PE, the Karoo and even Cape Town in May, in the attempt to inspire and glitter up the lives of South African knitters through exclusive workshops.
Ready for the man himself? Introducing, StevenBe, AKA the Glitter Knitter:
How’s all that colour? Although details of StevenBe’s visit are yet to be confirmed, follow Mohair South Africa for updates so you don’t miss out on what’s sure to be an interesting ride.
