Over the weekend, a robbery of a jewellery store in Durban resulted in smashed windows and stolen designer watches – but the way the thieves went about it left little to be impressed about.
Subtlety zero, effectiveness pretty decent I suppose.
According to reports, the thieves targeted Mayuri Jewellers in Chatsworth Centre, destroying four display windows and stealing thousands of rands worth of goods.
The overnight security guard at the mall was held up during what director Lee Soni called a suspected “syndicate” plan.

How terrible? No wonder Cape Town jewellery stores pack away all their goods at the end of every day.
This isn’t the first time a Mayuri Jewellers has been hit. Three months ago their franchise at Liberty Midlands Mall in Pietermaritzburg was targeted.
