  • Wiz Khalifa’s Tribute To Pablo Escobar Has Really Pissed Off Colombians

When you’re a rapper near the top of your game you’re going to push buttons and step on toes, but I’m guessing Wiz Khalifa didn’t know his Instagram tribute to drug lord Pablo Escobar was going to strike such a nerve.

It all started when Wiz headed to Pablo’s tombstone in Medellin, Colombia, posting three pictures to his Instagram account.

We’ll just show you one of them, because they’re all rather similar, but everyone is saying he’s smoking a big doobie.

That’s chilled, I guess, but he also left flowers for the slain former king of cocaine.

As you can see from the comments, people weren’t that impressed. Most pissed off was the Mayor of Medellin, Federico Gutiérrez. Below from Huffington Post SA:

“It shows that this guy has never had to suffer from the violence inflicted by these drug traffickers,” said Gutiérrez, who added that Khalifa should have left flowers for Escobar’s victims. The mayor said Khalifa won’t be welcome back in town unless he apologizes [sic]…

And then local newspapers joined in:

Bogota newspaper El Espectador blasted Khalifa’s “gaffe” and said it “reopened the profound pain that narco-trafficking has left that city.” The newspaper’s editor was gunned down in 1986 in an assassination linked to the cartels, and El Espectador’s office was bombed in 1989 by the Medellin cartel…

    And social media:

    You get the drift.

As of yet he hasn’t responded via social media or press release, which probably means he is too gangsta to actually give a shit.
