Baseball Player Takes Bat To The Head In Freak Accident – Still Walks Off Field [Video]

When you're a catcher it's usually the ball that's going to the damage, but Tampa Bay Rays' Wilson Ramos won't forget this broken bat for a while.

Baseball still has some of the better brawls going around (a classic HERE), but it isn’t all that often a catcher ends up taking a bat to the noggin.

That’s exactly what happened to Tampa Bay Rays catcher Wilson Ramos last night, a broken bat resulting in a six-stitch wound.

Baltimore Orioles’ Ruben Tejada is the man wielding the bat, although you can’t really blame him for this freak accident.

Check it:

Ramos also suffered a torn knee ligament in late September last year, so spare a thought for the poor chap.

While you’re here let’s also take a look at a beaut of a catch from our own Gift Ngoepe two weeks back:

You ripper.
