  • All The Booze The Queen Drinks On a Daily Basis

Unlike her now retired husband, her Royal Majesty the Queen is not a foodie.

Rather, explains Darren McGrady, a former chef in the royal kitchens, Queenie eats to live.

Speaking to Business Insider, McGrady gave the lowdown on what it is the Queen eats every day while dining in the Royal palace.

Her taste might be simple, consisting of tea and biscuits for breakfast, a simple plate of fish and veggies for lunch and a Gaelic-style steak for dinner, but at least we’re not dealing with a well-done steak drowning in tomato sauce.

Listing every meal and its various options, Business Insider also gave a little info on what it is the Queen likes to drink, and when – check it:

    Lunch:

Before lunch, she enjoys a gin and Dubonnet (a sweet wine-based aperitif) with a slice of lemon and a lot of ice.

It’s likely she uses Gordon’s Gin, which has a royal warrant.

According to Vanity Fair, the Queen has two more midday drinks:

Then, during lunch, she’ll have a piece of chocolate and a glass of wine at meal’s end. (That we have been eating lunch all these years without closing with a piece of chocolate and glass of wine now makes us feel utterly foolish.)

Then, also at lunch, the Queen drinks a dry gin martini, according to her cousin Margaret Rhodes. So, yes, we are now at three drinks by roughly 1 p.m.

    Tsk tsk, Lizzie.

    Evening:

She finishes her day with a glass of Champagne.

She usually has a glass of Champagne in the evening, according to The Independent, likely chosen from the eight brands— including Bollinger, Lanson, and Krug — that have been given royal warrants.

And, of course, warrants have been given to a number of fine wines, though she isn’t a huge fan.

If the Queen can do it, so can we – although I am more partial to big swigs of The Wolftrap Red when no one’s looking.
