Back in 2001 Broken Lizard, a group of American funnymen, wrote and acted in Super Troopers.
If you were of a certain age and a certain persuasion, you ripped a few with your mates and spent the next hour and half laughing yourself stupid.
Now, 17 years later, the team are back with their long-awaited sequel. Super Troopers 2 is only due out next year, on April 20 of course (4/20), but to get the ball rolling they dropped the official teaser yesterday.
It looks like the team have stuck to the tried and tested, so get a first glimpse at what’s in store:
According to the trailer’s synopsis:
When the United States and Canada get into a dispute about the location of the actual border, the Super Troopers – Mac, Thorny, Foster, Rabbit and Farva – are called in to set up a new Highway Patrol station in the contested area. Our heroes quickly revert to their own brand of unconventional police work.
We’ll give it a watch, but let’s just hope it isn’t another Anchorman 2 or Zoolander 2 situation.
Oh, and if you don’t get the ‘meow’ reference in the headline:
