A casual Thursday afternoon for some 400 of the world’s wealthiest entailed attending a wedding ceremony overlooking the Adriatic Sea.
Tying the knot was the daughter of New York’s ‘King of Retail’, Renee Sutton, and her fiancée Eliot Cohen in a traditional Jewish ceremony following a four-day build up to the big event, explained Daily Mail.
Her billionaire pops, Jeff Sutton, is the well-known landlord to Armani and Dolce and Gabbana boutiques, and is the 522nd richest man in the world.
Reports suggest he spent a whopping $25 million (R323 million) on the wedding extravaganza, making it one of the most expensive ever staged.
Guests arrived on horse-drawn carriages:
The two then exchanged vows at St Stephen Castle near Monopoli in southern Italy.
And were married under a huppah:
Thankfully, locals who were not invited to the wedding were still able to see the nuptials from the beach:
The evening ended with a spectacular fireworks display before a fleet of MINIs took the guests to Bari airport for overnight flight back to New York.
A look at the reception:
And a few of the guests:
