  • Trump’s Other Property – Chateau Des Palmiers – Got ‘Slammed’ By The Hurricane

Millions of people across the Caribbean have been affected by Hurricane Irma, and Florida is preparing for a solid pummelling.

No official word from Donald Trump on his St. Martin property yet, but reports suggest that Le Chateau des Palmiers, which Trump purchased back in 2013, took a battering.

That’s no surprise, considering that the entire island has basically been flattened – our pics and video from earlier HERE.

Washington Post with what we know about Trump’s property:

The status of Trump’s gated compound on Plum Bay, which is on the market, was not immediately known. But officials with the French government, which controls the side of the island where his beachfront property is located, said the territory suffered widespread destruction…

Amanda Miller, a spokeswoman for the Trump Organization, said that company officials are monitoring the situation in St. Martin very closely.

“All of the proper precautions and protections have been implemented and right now we are just praying for all those in the path of Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean and beyond,” Miller said in a statement…

Trump’s Chateau des Palmiers estate — whose name translates to “Castle of the Palms” — covers nearly five acres and comes with a pool at the beach’s edge, a tennis court and fitness center [sic]. The trust that oversees his holdings recently slashed the asking price from $28 million to $16.9 million.

Let’s snoop via the listing on Caribbeanway:

    Decent.

More images from Sotheby’s, where it’s listed for rental starting from $6 000 (R77 000) per night.

    And those rates:

Might have to trim those a touch now.

It’s worth noting that one of Trump’s other favourite properties, his signature Mar-A-Lago club and three golf courses, is in South Florida.

Hurricane Irma is headed there next. It’s almost like Mother Nature is angry about his climate change denial and withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement.
