  • Bose Reckons These New Headphones Will Kill Apple’s AirPods

It didn’t take long for other brands to start releasing their own version of “true wireless” earphones into the market, in an effort to compete with the undeniably popular Apple AirPods.

The latest entrant, though, is a welcome addition.

With rubberised cups to hold the buds securely in your ears, as well as to minimise external noise – something that AirPods lack – the Bose SoundSport Free wireless headphones are also super comfortable.

Just take a look at the little pipsqueaks:

As suggested by their name, the SoundSports are primarily for those of you who like to build up a sweat, and so they are sweat- and water-resistant.

They also deliver up to five hours of battery life, details Mashable:

Your pair also comes with a charging case for fuelling on the go. Bose claims a fully charged case will provide two full extra charges, or up to ten extra hours of battery life.

And unlike AirPods, the SoundSport Free has buttons on the headphones themselves to control your phone, meaning you can make calls while wearing them without fishing around for your phone.

Bose claims that its antenna system creates a rock-solid connection between the two headphones as well as your device, though it’s difficult to judge without having tried them out.

But although Seth begs to differ – you can read all about his love for Apple AirPods here – it will be interesting to see which route he goes, given his love of the Bose wireless home speakers.

You can pre-order your SoundSport Free now, although they aren’t shipping until early October.

It’s clear SoundSports have some tempting features that set it apart from competitors – after all, Bose headphones are typically known for good sound.
