The World’s Best Drivers Failed Their ‘South Africanisms’ Test With Hilarious Results [Video]

In the run up to the first Rallycross Championship in Africa, organisers decided to test the drivers' abilities to understand South African. The results are worth a chuckle.

We’ve begun the countdown until the FIA World Rallycross Championship lands in South Africa and, guys, there are only 30 days left until you can start your engines.

Hosted at the Killarney International Raceway in Cape Town, the reason we’re so excited is because the season-closer will bring the rallycross event to the continent of Africa for the first time – with superstar drivers Sebastien Loeb, Petter Solberg, Mattias Ekstrom and Ken Block set to be on the track.

How flipping cool is that? Move over F1, hello WRX.

In the build up to their South African debut, the WRX has been dropping a few videos to get the excitement going.

The latest video tests the international drivers on their ability to understand South Africanisms. For the most part they fail, but it’s all super lighthearted:

What’s up with all the animal guesses? Perhaps this is the reason:

It’s clear the drivers, no matter how fantastic, need a lesson or two on South Africanism.

If  you feel that you’re the person to give it to them, or just want to watch some legit rallycross at Killarney, you can see all the action on Saturday, 11 November from 8AM until Sunday, 12 November 2017 at 4PM.

Tickets available here – get cracking.

Sponsored by Gumtree, who are doing wonders for the automotive industry in South Africa (check out the Pre-Owned Car Awards), fans can look forward to seeing all of the stars in action.

Here’s what you’re in for:

A weekend of exhilarating wheel-to-wheel race action on mixed surfaces (dirt and asphalt), the FIA World Rallycross Championship delivers serious indulgence for fans of speed and cars. High profile drivers are equipped with RX Supercars with over 600bhp and the ability to accelerate from 0-60mph in less than two seconds – faster than a Formula One car.

Ready? Let’s go.
