  • Suspicions Raised As Video Showing Local Actress Eating Wad Of Money Goes Viral

What is it with eating money? Is it an upgrade of the skothane trend of pouring Ultramel custard all over the show?

Just last week we shared video evidence of metro traffic cops having cash for lunch, and now we’re seeing two well-known South African actresses doing the same.

After footage was shared on social media showing Phindile Gwala pretending to eat a wad of R50 notes off a plate in a restaurant in the Gateway Theatre of Shopping in Durban, the video has become the subject of a police investigation, reports News24.

Actress and personality Jessica Nkosi can be seen next to her.

It was linked to a second video clip from last year which showed a bundle of notes in various dominations:

In the centre of the frame is a Fidelity Security bag – a well-known company that provides cash-in-transit services.

The man taking the videos turned the camera towards himself, selfie-style on both occasions.

Now the police are trying to get to the bottom of the video.

Could this be where the cash stolen during cash-in-transit heists is ending up? Hmmm.

The police minister’s spokesperson, Vuyo Mhaga, said on Monday evening:

“We are aware of the footage, an investigation is under way.”

    “We are chewing the cash.”

What even is that and who even is that? Well, get this, from The Citizen:

The two ladies were in the company of a new blesser known as King – who has apparently gained notoriety for flaunting money on social media and at every local night club.

King, according to the sources, is originally from Uganda and lives at the Michelangelo Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg. Those close to him claimed that he called himself “a member of the rich gang”.

Sunday Sun also reports that, a source alleged this was not the first time Jessica was spotted with King.

“A few weeks ago, they were spotted at a popular club, north of Jozi, popping bottles,” the source said.

The guy has apparently been pursuing Jessica for a while, and has been lavishing expensive gifts on her in an attempt to win her over.

Another well-paced source told the tabloid, the two ladies have been hanging out with King and his gang. They are said to be not short of what they need when they are with him.

    Wow.

Here’s the second video featuring “King”:

Nkosi’s management, Capacity Relations, said in a statement that she hadn’t done anything wrong, but was rather an innocent bystander:

“What transpired left Jessica uncomfortable and upset as this is not the company she is used to keeping nor the environment she wishes to associate her personal brand with,” the PR firm said.

    Too late for that, girl.
