Yesterday it was Good Morning America, and today it’s another well-known American talk show.
Wednesday was day two of Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters’ media week since being crowned Miss Universe, and saw her spend some time with Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa.
A guest on their show LIVE with Kelly and Ryan, Demi-Leigh chatted about, among other things, an all too common South African occurrence: hijacking.
Yup, the 22-year-old explained how a course, which she had taken a few months prior to be surrounding by five men with guns while stopped at a robot, had taught her to punch someone in the throat if ever in trouble.
And that’s what she did, punched the guy in the throat. Cue news headlines featuring the criminal trying to claim the fame. Imagine.
Although the hosts didn’t bat an eyelid at her casual use of the world “robot”, it’s kinda cool that Demi-Leigh hasn’t gone full Charlize Theron on us and abandoned her South Africanisms.
At least, not yet – check her story:
How kak are those edits?
I found the whole interview which is a lot of fun, even if it does cut off at the end and we’re left with a mental image of Debra Messing.
Damnit, Kelly!
