Yup, Tom Cruise is back, with Paramount Pictures releasing the first trailer for Mission Impossible: Fallout during the Super Bowl on Sunday night.
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the trailer opens with what appears to be the aftermath of an impossible mission gone bad, as well as something about missing plutonium.
We don’t want to give away too much before you’ve watched the trailer, but here’s a little inside scoop via The Verge:
Henry Cavill’s character August Walker points out that [Cruise’s Ethan] Hunt has been betrayed and disavowed by his own government numerous times, and asks when someone would just give up. The trailer then launches into motorcycle chases, fist fights, shootouts, and a particularly hair-raising helicopter chase.
Duh.
Watch the trailer below, where you can bear witness to Tom Cruise once again proving why he is such an action box office drawcard:
Hold onto the plutonium, for heaven’s sake, and then we wouldn’t have to go through this entire mess.
If this is your jam – and you really want to hang out with the “same old Ethan” – Mission Impossible: Fallout hits theatres on July 27.
