  • Russia Has A Problem With The Queen’s Booze Consumption

‘Ol Queenie loves a tipple, doesn’t she?

The relationship between Russia and the United Kingdom is currently very strained, with the whole spy poisoning saga creating a diplomatic headache of note, and now the Kremlin are fighting back.

Not through official channels, but rather through Aleksey Pushkov, an ally of Vladimir Putin. He said Her Majesty approaches drinking like a ‘ceremony’, and he’s not talking about her tea habits.

Via the rag called the Daily Mail, here’s more from Alekshey:

‘Before dinner she drinks a cocktail made from gin and another based on wine, with ice and lemon.

After the meal, she has a glass of wine with a bar of chocolate. She also drinks dry Martini.

‘At the end of the day, she likes to drink cool Champagne.’

The senator even even drew on the expertise of a wine buff to claim Theresa May was a frequent brandy drinker.

There’s no limit to the contempt I have for Theresa May, and the Royal Family are an outdated concept that I could easily do without, but take it down a notch Russia.

I too approach drinking like a ceremony – pour Cape Town Gin Company’s tipple into a glass, add Fitch & Leedes bespoke mixer, swizzle and drink.

Repeat until bedtime. Feel free to incorporate that into your routine if it sounds up your street.

Of course Russia’s potshot at the Queen is all part of a larger information war with Britain, and some of their claims are pretty out there.

    This from Business Insider:

Dmitry Kiselyov, a Putin-appointed presenter for the state-run Vesti News, suggested on Sunday that the Queen was either “being deceived” or “in on” Britain’s supposed sinister reason behind its refusal to share its intelligence with Moscow…

The news anchor then accused British investigators, and by extension the Queen, of destroying evidence of the nerve agent attack by killing Skripals’ pets.

Skripal is that former Russian spy who was, along with his daughter, poisoned on UK soil. We covered that here, but let’s get back to that pet drama:

Skripal’s two guinea pigs were found dead from starvation, while his cat was put down, a strand of the case which has become another strange Kremlin talking point.

    Kiselyov said:

“They decided to put the devoted, heroic cat to sleep. Or, as they officially say in the UK, Nash van Drake the cat was euthanised in its best interests.

“Euthanasia is a voluntary process, and this cat didn’t seek death. The experts and Her Majesty made this decision for it since they know better what the cat needs, in the name of the Queen.”

Wow guy, you need to check yourself. You can accuse an old British lady of drinking too much and living a life of leisure, because that’s pretty much a national sport, but you don’t criticise an old British lady of mistreating animals.

What next, Russia, trying to undermine American democracy with a coordinated effort to ensure they hire a complete and utter moron as president?
