Dancing FBI Agent’s Gun Goes Off, Shoots Someone Following Backflip [Video]

Michael Jackson says to blame it on the boogie, and that's exactly how someone ended up being shot in the leg. Not this chap's finest moment.

We’ve all had a dancing mishap, like a ripped pants crotch or a power slide that resulted in knee damage, but that’s small fry when compared to this FBI agent.

He was off-duty at a bar in Denver, Colorado, when he decided to bring out the big guns.

There’s some solid side-to-side stepping action, and a little knee-jostling to mix it up, but it’s the backflip that really sees things fall apart.

Before we get into too many details, let’s check out the clip from the Mile High Spirits Distillery in downtown Denver:

Pretty much all good until the gun goes off.

To truly appreciate his moves, though, one must have sound. Take a guess which song he’s busting a move to…

Damn, the crowd was digging his vibe until he shot someone. Hate it when that happens.

Should have tried Michael Jackson’s iconic tilt lean, because nobody gets shot during that one.

Here’s Slate with some comment from Denver law enforcement:

“When the agent retrieved his handgun, an unintended discharge occurred,” Denver Police said in a news release. The bullet apparently hit a male patron in the leg. He was rushed to the hospital and is in good condition. “He appears to have non-life threatening injuries,” Marika Putnam, a Denver police spokeswoman, said.

An eyewitness account:

One witness told the local Fox affiliate that the smell of gun powder quickly took over the club. “Everyone was kind of shocked after it happened because [the agent] kind of put his gun back away and then he walked away,” the witness, identified only as Julie, said. “No one really knew what was going on.”

The FBI agent was taken to police headquarters, and later released to an FBI supervisor.

The Denver district attorney’s office will decide whether to press any charges against the agent.

I reckon they should spend less time dancing, and more time trying to put Donnie behind bars.
