It took 30 seconds for real-life ‘Spider-Man’ Mamoudou Gassama to rescue a toddler dangling from a balcony in May.
In the same amount of time, the 22-year-old Malian immigrant became a world-famous hero.
He deservedly gained fame and praise for his noble efforts, which saw him using his insane parkour skills to scale the four floors of a Parisian apartment block to rescue the tot.
Now that he’s been awarded French citizenship and met President Emmanuel Macron, Gassama is settling into another heroic role – with ladders, water hoses and protective gear on hand this time.
Take it away, Mashable:
[Gassama has] clearly taken them up on the offer of sorts…with the Paris Fire Brigade tweeting a photo of its 24 new recruits on June 29, including Gassama.
The newbies began their new roles with the fire service on Sunday, his press spokeswoman Djeneba Keita told CNN. The team, according to the tweet, have started in voluntary civic service roles.
See him? Take a closer look:
Ah, there he is! Looking good there, bud.
I’m sure Gassama will take to the role quite nicely, and hopefully he won’t have to deal with more dangling toddlers while he’s on the job.
Maybe after this stint is done, his next venture should be starring as Spider-Man in a future instalment.
