2018 may well be the year of the horror movie.
Fear-inducing flicks such as Hereditary, Halloween and Mandy are all set to be released later this year, and they all promise to scare your socks and shoes off.
That’s a fine three-course feast for horror fans to lap up, and now another terrifying offering is being added to the menu.
The trailer for Along Came the Devil has just been released, and it’s about as terrifying as you can possibly imagine.
Think of it as the millennial’s version of The Exorcist or The Exorcism of Emily Rose, but in HD and with more teen angst.
If you’re big on the horror genre, especially those aforementioned classics, you’re in for a treat.
Collider explains:
The film follows a troubled teen named Ashley, who can’t seem to cope with her mother’s death and is sent to live with her estranged aunt Tanya when her older sister heads off to college. Back in her mom’s old hometown, Ashley can’t escape the sense that something is terribly wrong and visions of her deceased mother drive her to a dangerous seance that threatens her very soul…
Along Came the Devil promises an “exorcism movie for a new generation.”
I already mentally noped out of this flick, but at the same time, I’m impressed with what I’ve seen so far.
Take a squizz at the trailer if you dare:
Judging from the fact that this is “Trailer #1”, goodness knows what the second trailer will hold.
Along Came the Devil will be released in American cinemas on August 10.
