    Get your tissues out, folks.

Just when you thought that Forbes‘ “Top 100 highest paid entertainers in the world” made you cry, you’ll be bawling once you you find out who’s raking in top dollar on Instagram.

UK-based company Hopper HQ, which runs social media accounts on behalf of companies and individuals, has just released its list of the richest earners on Instagram.

    More from BBC News:

The rankings and cost per post were arrived at after speaking with so-called social media “influencers” themselves, along with brands and marketing companies, to estimate how much each account could charge.

However, marketers tend to be secretive about how much they pay, or the posts may be part of a wider deal – as is often the case with A-list celebrities or sports stars – so the exact amounts are not known …

Mike Bandar, co-founder of Hopper HQ, said the rise was due to marketing companies moving “away from other mediums like TV and print and seeing they can get a bigger return on their investment” via social media.

Of course, in exchange for “biggest returns”, these companies fork out the motherload to celebs so that they can hawk their products on filtered Insta shots.

Take a look at the top 10 Instagram earners for 2018 and weep at how much they earn per post (yup, per post – have fun crying yourself to sleep tonight):

    1. Kylie Jenner – $1 million (R13 million)

The *cough* self-made millionaire tops the list, knocking off last year’s top earner into second place …

    2. Selena Gomez – $800 000 (R10 million)

Tough luck, Selena. Maybe you can bump Jenner off the top spot next year. Still, R10 million … not a bad amount, if I do say so myself.

    3. Cristiano Ronaldo – $750,000 (R9,8 million)

He’s off to Juventus, but if for some that Ronaldo is worried about his salary, at least he can enjoy his R9,8 million pops.

    4. Kim Kardashian – $720 000 (R9,4 million)

Kylie Jenner’s sister (yup, we’ve reached the point where we can just call this Kardashian “Kylie Jenner’s sister”) is sitting pretty (and rich) at number four.

    5. Beyoncé Knowles – $700 000 (R9,2 million)

Clinching the top five spot is Queen Bee, who’s doing pretty nicely with her new album.

Let’s hope her raunchy pics weren’t shot to earn those R9,2 million paychecks.

    6. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson – $650 000 (R8,5 million)

No wonder Johnson’s on Forbes‘ “Top 100 Highest Paid Entertainers” list – he’s coining it on Instagram!

    7. Justin Bieber – $630 000 (R8,3 million)

How much do y’all wanna bet Selena Gomez’s ex-beau made a mint off his soppy engagement post? I’m sure the jewellers behind Hailey Baldwin’s ring paid top dollar to the pair to show that bling off.

    8. Neymar – $600 000 (R7,9 million)

Neymar may have acted the fool for rolling around on the soccer pitch, but at the same time he’s rolling in Instagram cash.

    9. Lionel Messi – $500 000 (R6,5 million)

Unlike Neymar, Messi is only earning a measly R6,5 million per post. Oh, the suffering he must go through.

    10. Kendall Jenner – $500 000 (R6,5 million)

Rounding up this delightful crew is Kylie Jenner’s other sister, Kendall. If her paid posts are anything like her nude pics with gal-pal Hailey Baldwin, then it’s no wonder that she’s raking in the dough.

Being green with envy just isn’t fun at all, is it?
