Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, peeps.
Every football fan has dreamt of scoring in front of their team’s home crowd, followed by wild celebrations, but for most of us it’s the stuff of fiction.
Then you get this young man, who decided he was going to make the most of his opportunity. Before Sunday’s official start to the Rennes and Marseille match, youngsters are often given the chance to take the ceremonial kick-off, passing the ball from the centre mark before being cheered off the field.
That wasn’t going to cut it, because rather than tamely side-footing the ball, he took off towards goal, slotted it past the ‘keeper and lost his shit.
Given that he hit the back of the net, maybe Jose Mourinho should snap him up?
TIME says we can “stop holding out for a hero”, and I’m inclined to agree with them:
The only downside here is the commentator’s complete lack of enthusiasm – poor form, sir.
