  • Morne Morkel Shares One Of His Secrets To Peace Of Mind

When Morne Morkel called time on his international career, South African fans were quick to show their gratitude for a man whose career numbers will never do full justice to the value he brought to the team.

The big man might have finished on 309 test wickets at an average of 27,66, but someone like Dale Steyn will tell you that he landed plenty of wickets at the other end thanks to Morkel’s hard work.

Hanging up his international boots hasn’t meant he’s stopped playing cricket altogether, and English county side Surrey made one of the signings of the season when they snapped up Morkel.

Six matches into the County Championship, the South African quickie has 38 wickets at the incredible average of 13,84. That includes a match-winning display against Lancashire, and the match-clinching catch was pretty spectacular:

Top effort, and we sure will miss that trademark celebration.

With a two-year contract agreed upon, and a temporary move to England, Morkel was faced with the challenge of storing his belongings whilst away from his home country. Stor-Age proved to be a convenient solution, providing him with safe and secure storage. He took up a self-storage unit at the Stor-Age Claremont branch where he is storing his valuables until the English season is complete and he returns home to South Africa.

    Comments Morne:

Spending so much time away from home, self-storage gives me peace of mind knowing that my belongings are safe and secure. I live a nomadic lifestyle with cricket and until I put down roots permanently, it’s great to have a place that I trust to store my life. I’ve also found it convenient to grab things as I need them whenever I am home.

Popping into one of the centrally located Stor-Age facilities sure beats venturing out into the sticks, and the range of storage size options, as well as flexible lease periods, means that you’ll find your perfect fit.

Hey, if it’s good enough for Morne, it’s good enough for me.

Stor-Age have also offered all of our readers a cool 50% off the first month’s rental, with no obligation to extend beyond a month, so be sure to make use of that if you’re signing up.
