Two lessons to learn here – shoplifting is bad, and it’s worth paying for your parking before you zoom out the security boom.
Yesterday, two women were arrested when they attempted to flee from Roodepoort’s Clearwater Mall. It is alleged that they had shoplifted from a store inside the mall, and given how they reacted, it seems safe to assume some form of guilt.
Also, Police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubela said the two women, aged 24 and 36, were found in possession of stolen goods.
News24 picked up on the video, which did the rounds on social media yesterday:
[They] are seen driving a Volkswagen Polo straight through a security boom gate, with guards clad in red pullovers hot on their heels.
The security spikes puncture the vehicle’s tyres, bringing the car to a halt at a traffic circle at the mall.
They were immediately apprehended by the security guards at the scene.
A failed getaway in every sense of the word:
Not your best effort, ladies.
Still, not quite as dumb as the criminals who drove into the entrance to Pollsmoor Prison earlier this year.
