Weathermen usually have the worst job during a hurricane.
Switch to any news channel and you’ll see people in parkas standing in the middle of a storm, looking miserable and shouting updates into a camera.
There was even that guy who just gave up on reporting and stood there, taking it like a man.
Over the weekend Hurricane Florence hit the United States, leading to widespread evacuations and large-scale damage.
In the midst of this, one man stood bravely, bracing himself for the storm. Here’s Scroll.in:
A meteorologist and reporter from Weather Channel, Mike Seidel, was reporting live from the ground in North Carolina and it looked like he was having a hard time finding his footing, with the high-speed wind threatening to blow him away.
While Seidel amped up the drama, two guys in the background seemed to be having a very different experience. Take a look:
Chilled.
When this video hit the internet, people were quick to make fun of the weatherman for his dramatisation.
The Weather Channel then came to his defence:
“It’s important to note that the two individuals in the background are walking on concrete, and Mike Seidel is trying to maintain his footing on wet grass, after reporting on-air until 1:00 a.m. ET this morning and is undoubtedly exhausted.”
Whatever. It’s still funny.
