You’re probably thinking ‘huh, what’s this all about’, so let me explain.

A few days ago I was perusing Facebook, glossing over humblebrags and desperate cries for attention, when I happened upon a post that a friend had commented on.

There was just something about it that stood out. Nowadays runways around the world have three-breasted models and ‘vagina mohawks’, so maybe it was the simplicity of the message that drew me in.

That picture above is just part of the image I saw on Facebook. Because you deserve the full effect, and it’s integral to this story, here’s that image in its entirety:

Where to start? Sheesh, that oke didn’t skip leg day.

Ons bloed is khaki is superb, and it’s been ages since I have heard the words ‘PT short’ thrown around. I needed to know more, so I clicked through to the Boerboel Wear Facebook page.

I started on their ‘Our Story’ section:

Boerboel Wear is a proudly South African developed and manufactured brand envisioned by three passionate entrepreneurs.

The main objective was to develop a range of camo, outdoor and leisurewear that incorporates high-tech fabrics and patterns which blend seamlessly with South African and other international hunting landscapes.

Inspired by characteristics of the Boerboel, a South African dog breed, our Camo and Kalahari Ranges offer the perfect blend between reliability and intelligence.

Now it’s clear that these guys know their target market, because I started snooping around their photos.

    Look at this suave gentleman:

That’s the kind of man you can trust with your livestock. I reckon he can handle his brandewyn.

Also, to translate from above, “beautiful enough for church, strong enough for work”. That’s pure magic.

Back to the PT short, though, which led me to the Boerboel website and this page.

Our practical and durable Kalahari short is the essential addition to the hardworking farmer’s everyday wear. Cut perfectly short according to the preference of most South African farmers and strengthened with top stitch detail.

We also found this image, although he’s wearing a slightly longer cut than the PT Short:

Ah yes, the world-famous ‘look over the shoulder whilst flexing and hoisting a hay bale’ look.

Boerboel Wear is clearly proving popular, because a while back they celebrated 25 000 Facebook followers in style:

They’ve now ticked past 28 000, in case you were wondering.

I should point out that it’s not just men’s clothing, because there is a Ladies Camo range:

So, what is the point of all this? Nothing, really. I saw a picture of some ‘nuwe PT short’, and like a moth to flames, I was drawn in.

Buy khaki, wear two-tone, live your life – you do you.
