    Yes, it’s that time of the year again.

    No, it hasn’t been called the Argus Cycle Tour for years. Get with the programme.

    Whilst the main event is next Sunday, March 10, we’re getting in there early with the road closures, because you’ll want to be clued up for this weekend.

    On Sunday, March 3, the Cape Town Cycle Tour Junior 2019 is taking place in and around the Green Point Stadium Precinct. This will result in the following road closures, both on Saturday and race day:

    Right, that’s the juniors out of the way.

    Looking ahead to the Cape Town Cycle Tour main event, we’ll start with Saturday, March 9:

    Now we look at Sunday, March 10 – the main event.

    Best to bookmark this one for later consultation, just to make sure you’re not caught unawares:

    The Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust, organisers of the Cape Town Cycle Tour, have also appealed to all residents in Muizenberg, St James, Kalk Bay, Clifton, Bantry Bay and Sea Point (including Victoria Road and Beach Road) to please not park along the Main Road.

    Where possible, they’ve also asked residents to please use alternative side roads or designated parking areas.

    In the next 10 or so days, when you’re frustrated at the spandex-wearing cyclists taking up the shoulder of the road, just remember that they willingly signed up to cycle 109 kilometres.

    On a Sunday, when most of us are happy to have our feet up with a drink in hand, so let’s cut them a little slack.
