Earlier this year, Amber Heard spoke out about the abuse that she allegedly suffered while she was still married to Johnny Depp.
This detailed description of events in the Heard-Depp household happened in response to Depp’s $50 million defamation lawsuit against her.
The battle between the two is still raging, with Depp now releasing images in an attempt to show his side of the story.
The image, of Depp badly injured with a cigarette burn on his face, was apparently taken after a fight between him and Heard in Australia in 2015.
Over to Pop Culture:
The actor claimed the fight began after Heard spoke with Depp’s legal team about his “intention to enter into a post-nuptial agreement.” He claimed in the filing this sent Heard “into a rage,” The Blast reported.
Depp said he had been avoiding Heard that day. In his attempts, Depp claimed he decided that after a year of sobriety he “sought to avoid Ms. Heard by going to the downstairs bar in the house. She followed him, screaming at him abusively,” per the documents obtained by the outlet. Depp said “he poured himself a vodka and drank it.”
At that point, the filing stated, Heard threw a bottle at him and missed. Depp alleged in the documents he had another drink and Heard threw another bottle, which severed a portion of his finger.
At that point, Depp claimed, “Ms. Heard then put a cigarette out on [Depp’s] right cheek.”
The above pictures accompanied the statement, and show the alleged cigarette burn and damaged hand.
In 2016, Heard accused Depp of throwing a phone at her face.
Heard filed for divorce at the time of the alleged 2016 attack. Depp, 55, was appalled by the reporting on the matter, and took particular issue with The Sun‘s claim he “beat” his then-wife. In court documents filed in February, he said the outlet “must have made a positive decision to present a totally one-sided picture, leaving out my side of the story and pretending it either did not exist or was not worth considering.”
Heard has been invited to contribute evidence from her side.
Depp admits that during the fight he wrote on the walls in blood and oil paint, but denies urinating in the house.
Yep, sounds like the work of a sane man.
