Zapiro may have courted his fair share of controversy over the years, but he never shies away from a hard truth.
He was quick to call Jacob Zuma on his testimony at the Zondo commission of inquiry into state capture, where the former president threw out red herrings in an attempt to distract from his criminality, but Zuma isn’t a one-man show.
He is aided and abetted by a gang of sorts, and whilst the effects of their crimes may not be felt in the same way as the gangs that operate in the Western Cape, those who continue to try and undermine the running of this country are also incredibly dangerous.
In his cartoon on the Daily Maverick from Saturday, Zapiro arrowed in on the ‘2019s’, a gang after ‘State Recapture’:
The Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane, is the ‘PP’ you see in the middle.
Altogether, they form the not-so-elite agents of State Recapture, which would be quite possibly the worst Marvel movie of all time.
In light of another damning court ruling against Mkhwebane yesterday, Zapiro couldn’t resist another go:
Always nice to see someone who is utterly incompetent, and completely compromised, being put to the sword.
