When you reach a certain age, what you’re looking for in a bar drastically changes.
Yeah, there was a time when you wanted loud music and cheap drinks, but you’re a more sophisticated person now, and we’re proud of you.
There is no shortage of bars in Cape Town, but if it’s style that you’re after, then we should tell you about Frontier, which opens this Sunday, September 1.
Located at Ideas Cartel, The Foundry, 1 Sand Hill Road, in Green Point, Frontier will be open from 9:30AM to midnight daily, offering all-day dining, from breakfast and coffee to bar snacks, exceptional cocktails and dinner.
Exclusively available to those who are part of the Cartel Members Club, rather than the general public, everything about Frontier oozes class.
You know the cocktails are going to be good because at the helm is sommelier, chef, and award-winning mixologist, Andrew Copsey, who hails from the most coveted bars in London and luxurious resorts worldwide.
He believes that Cape Town has barely scratched the surface of what could be achievable in terms of the cocktail scene, and he has his mind set on changing that.
A home away from home, Frontier is a serene and sophisticated place, with the same atmosphere as a high-end restaurant. That means table service, which is informed and hospitable – something that is often in woefully short supply around the city.
Frontier is the ideal venue for those savvy enough to join the Cartel Members Club to conduct meetings, spend a couple of hours when they would otherwise be at a loose end in town, or to meet with friends; an all-day space where their every need is catered for.
Take one look around, and you’ll see why there is so much buzz around the new bar:
I believe we’re looking at a mature drinking space for grown-ups, here, and one that would impress the hell out of anyone down from Jozi for business.
Yes, when summer eventually kicks into gear there’s also an outside space to soak up the sun:
The folks from Jozi, and anywhere else in the world, are going to lap that up.
Bring on summer.
With Andrew at the helm, the unique cocktail list is a mix of new and innovative tastes and experiences for even the most seasoned of travellers, fusing local flavours and global street food markets with an award-winning knowledge of international cocktail cultures.
Ideas Cartel also boasts a range of stylish hotel rooms spread across their different Cape Town locations, which are ideal for the corporate business traveller who wants to be in the thick of the action.
You can find out more about Frontier, or book a tour of the venue, here. If you want to enjoy the bar, as well as a range of other exclusive benefits, you will need to join the Cartel Members Club.
