I’m sure there are many people who think that Zachary Knight Galifianakis (or Zach, as you probably know him) peaked in The Hangover films.
The first one, maybe, because it really was a slippery slope to flogging that franchise for profit from there on out.
Zach fans will also point to his Funny or Die web series, Between Two Ferns, though, as proof of his comedic chops, and now that series has been turned into a full-length movie.
VICE says the trailer “looks bananas”, and I think they have a point:
The film sees the comedian on the road to film the 10 episodes, in hopes of landing a network TV talk show (“I’m a white man and I’m straight and I deserve it”). In the process he encounters countless setbacks which he must overcome so he can, for example, ask John Hamm if A Star is Born’s success “will open doors for other hot idiots” like Bradley Cooper, or ask Brie Larson when she got her first period.
There are also interviews with Keanu Reeves, Benedict Cumberbatch, David Letterman, a possible romantic tryst with Chrissy Teigen, and endless hijinks along the way.
In other words, it’s loaded with celeb cameos and appearances, which should make for a chuckle or two.
Trailer time:
This one is released on September 20.
For now, let’s relive that time Zach grilled Obama back in 2014:
