If your life has been feeling a little boring and predictable of late, why not pack it all up and head off to Antarctica?
The South African National Space Agency (SANSA) is putting together a team of volunteers, and they’ve opened up applications to anyone who’s interested.
Obviously, this is a research mission, so some background in engineering or the sciences is preferable.
Sorry if that’s already ruled you out. Chin up, pal.
Here’s more from the SANSA Website:
The trip will be from approximately the beginning of December 2019 till the end of February 2020.
There will be no payment made to the chosen people, but all their expenses will be paid, starting from Cape Town.
As the take-over occurs under harsh conditions and hard physical labour has to be executed, candidates must be physically fit and mentally strong. Shortlisted applicants will have undergo a full medical screening, including a dental examination at SANSA’s cost.
Over to BusinessTech for how to apply:
Sansa said that background verification, including criminal record, credit checks, security clearances, qualification and citizenship checks, as well as competency assessment and psychometric testing, may also form part of the selection process.
Interested applicants should email the following documents to aengelbrecht@sansa.org.za and cc in ameyer@sansa.org.za.
The closing date for applicants is September 25, 2019.
If you make the shortlist, they’ll be in touch, and three lucky people will be joining the team.
If you don’t hear back, then you didn’t make the cut.
Oh well, a South African summer isn’t such a bad thing to have to endure.
