Last week, Apple announced their new products for 2019, in a high-profile launch event.
The highest-profile releases were the new iPhones, with three models announced – the iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
For those who are keen to get their hands on the latest models when they finally touch down in South Africa, that means decision time, which is why we’ve been keeping an eye on the reviews doing the rounds.
Tech site The Verge is always the best place to start, and they’re keeping things simple with their iPhone 11 review, headlined “iPhone 11 review: the phone most people should buy”.
Here’s how that review starts:
This is one of the simplest reviews I’ve ever had to write: the iPhone 11 is the phone most people who are upgrading to a new iPhone this year should get. It’s an excellent phone, with one of the best cameras I’ve ever seen on a smartphone and terrific battery life.
OK, that’s a good start.
Then, we jump ahead to the end:
So, is it worth upgrading to the iPhone 11? If you’ve got an iPhone older than the XR and you’re looking to upgrade, I think the answer is yes. The camera is substantially improved, and you will get vastly better battery life than anything aside from a XR. That’s what most people care about, and Apple has really delivered here.
Well, I guess now we just have to wait and see what price the iPhone 11 sells for here in South Africa.
Digicape, South Africa’s leading independent Apple retailer, will keep us posted on that front when pre-orders open up.
For a really in-depth look, this 11-minute review, also from The Verge, covers all of the bases:
