On The Water – Here’s What R95k A Month Gets You In Clifton

I want to live the good life, so I did a little digging to see what it costs to rent an apartment on Clifton with direct access to the beach.

Happy Friday to everyone except Kevin Meyer, South Africa’s least funny comedian.

I want to live the good life, so I did a little digging to see what it costs to rent an apartment on Clifton with direct access to the beach.

Not just any apartment, but a three-bedroom cracker with a communal pool and a stroll down to Clifton 1st beach, which is one of the beaches that the out-of-towners don’t flock to in their droves during the peak summer months.

The listing on Seeff Properties is asking for R95 000 a month for the privilege of renting, and says the following:

The apartment offers 3 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living area. Fitted with finest fixtures and finishes which include climate control. The wrap around balcony has a built in braai.

I should hope so.

Anyway, here are some pictures:

Water shortage or no water shortage, if you’re paying R95 000 a month, you’re making use of that bath.

Seeff clearly understands that this is a listing for an overseas renter, so it even comes with a handy currency converter:

Yes, €5 700 a month sounds much more palatable.

You can see the full listing here.
