While Meghan and Harry were in South Africa, they agreed to let friend and broadcaster Tom Bradby make an ITV documentary about their lives.
The doccie is called Harry And Meghan: An African Journey and provides some insight into the struggles that the couple has faced since getting married.
You can watch the doccie in full here.
In one of the interviews with Bradby, Harry opened up about his relationship with William. He confirmed that there was, in fact, a bit of rift between the brothers, and they hardly spend any time together anymore.
Now a palace insider says that William is worried about Harry and Meghan.
Here’s The Telegraph:
A palace source told the BBC of household fears the Sussexes are in a “fragile place”, with Prince William hoping they “are alright” after Prince Harry unexpectedly laid bare details of their private relationship in a television documentary.
…The Dukes of Cambridge and Sussex are understood to have been in contact in person, while a Buckingham Palace spokesman declined to confirm or comment on any potential private conversations the Queen has had with her grandson.
Harry also spoke about the effect of living in the public eye on his own struggles with mental health.
The Sussexes are to take an extended period of leave from mid-November onwards.
A spokesman for Buckingham Palace would not comment on whether the Queen had encouraged or approved the idea, or whether anyone outside the Sussexes’ close-knit team of confidantes were aware of it.
Jonny Dymond, BBC royal correspondent, said the documentary showed the Duke and Duchess are “clearly having a terrible time”, but noted that the monarchy is supposed to be a unifying force in the United Kingdom.
Harry and Meghan are also currently involved in a court case against a popular British tabloid which is also adding to their stress.
According to the Daily Beast, the palace is particularly concerned about Meghan.
The royal family would be particularly sensitive to criticism that Meghan was feeling isolated within the royal family, as Princess Diana made the same criticism.
One palace source told the Standard: “I know that the Prince of Wales has several times reached out to Meghan. They get on and share a love of music too. I know he invited her to a preview of an exhibition at the palace.
“The Queen has been a source of strength too and invited them both to Balmoral where family problems are usually aired.”
Goes to show that not even titles, money, and that British stiff upper lip can save you from family drama.
