You have to respect people who get handed adversity and turn it into something incredible.
When Josh Sundquist was a kid, he lost his leg to cancer.
He went on to become a Paralympic ski racer, a motivational speaker, and a comedian.
He’s also a champion when it comes to Halloween costumes.
Sundquist makes full use of his one-leggedness to create some real winners. This year, he went as what Mashable describes as “our greatest source of light in this dark, dark world” – the Pixar lamp.
That’s the lamp that hops onto the screen before you watch an animated movie and cry for 90 minutes.
Here’s his lamp costume, alongside some of his other greatest hits over the years, including a half-eaten gingerbread man and a flamingo:
Other Sundquist costumes that deserve a mention include this foosball…person? Doll?
Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast:
And my personal favourite – a billboard for the American restaurant, IHOP.
It’s genius.
Up until I discovered Sundquist, Jessica Biel dressed as Justin Timberlake was definitely in the running as the top Halloween costume of 2019.
Sorry, Jessica. There’s just no beating the Pixar lamp, or anything else he’s done over the last couple of years.
Happy Halloween, everyone.
