Longtime host of Jeopardy!, Alex Trebek, recently revealed that he has resumed chemotherapy for stage four pancreatic cancer following a brief remission.

Fans of the show have sent many heartfelt messages to Trebek since he announced the diagnosis back in March, but perhaps the most unexpected message came from a contestant on the show.

Dhruv Gaur was met with the task of puzzling out a tricky clue for Final Jeopardy!.

Instead of figuring it out, Gaur used the opportunity to send the host a message.

Here’s The Washington Post with what happened when Trebek turned to Gaur for his answer.

The much-loved Trebek is one of the most revered game show hosts of all time. His reaction, however, was surprising, for the typically stoic host became emotional as he read the message.

Skip ahead to the 50-second mark to see his reaction:

The moving moment has launched the hashtag #WeLoveYouAlex on Twitter, as people all over the world express their support for Trebek.

Trebek has been a trooper through his diagnosis and treatment.

“I plan to beat the low survival-rate statistics for this disease. Truth told, I have to. Because under the terms of my contract, I have to host ‘Jeopardy!’ for three more years,” said Trebek, who started hosting the show in 1984.

…“I’m not afraid of dying,” Trebek said. “I’ve lived a good life, a full life, and I’m nearing the end of that life. … If it happens, why should I be afraid that?”

    We love you, Alex.
