The biggest royal news to come out of the past two weeks was the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s decision to strike out on their own.
The Queen was reportedly devastated, Piers Morgan took it as a personal affront, and others think they’re making the right decision.
Harry sat down with the Queen to hash out how all of this is going to work. Meanwhile, Meghan, following a brief public appearance with the Prince, jumped ship (or rather, private plane) and headed back to Canada, where she’d left Archie with his nanny.
The royal couple hasn’t been idle in the days following the awkward convo with HRH Granny.
Earlier this week, Meghan visited the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre in Vancouver to discuss issues affecting the women in the community, and yesterday Harry presided over the Rugby League World Cup 2021 draw.
Here’s the BBC:
Prince Harry hosted the Rugby League World Cup draws for the men’s, women’s and wheelchair tournaments, as part of his role as patron of the Rugby Football League.
Speaking to BBC News, Jon Dutton, the tournament’s chief executive, praised the prince for being “authentic”, “engaged” and taking his time to meet representatives from participating nations.
He also launched the Rugby League World Cup Mental Health Campaign:
Ahead of the draw, he met up with children in Buckingham Palace’s gardens, where he threw in a ‘dad joke’ or two:
In case you didn’t catch that, he told the kids they shouldn’t mess up the grass. Prime dad joke.
He also took the time to admire comedian Adam Hill’s beard, declaring it “fantastic!”.
Good times, all around.
