  • Surprise, Surprise – Harry And Meghan Have A Paparazzi Problem In Vancouver

So, Meghan and Harry have been in Canada for five minutes and they already have a paparazzi problem.

The Duke rejoined his wife and child soon after giving a rather heartfelt speech about his new life, at a charity event. He was then “whisked” all over the place (for some reason this word was used a lot in the news coverage of his journey to meet Meghan), before touching down in Vancouver.

He was then ‘whisked’ once more to where the couple is staying at the moment. It all sounds rather exhausting.

Sadly, it hasn’t been all smiles over in Canada. Within days of their reunion, the couple is threatening legal action against the Canadian press.

    Per Sky News:

It comes after images of Meghan were published in the media showing her taking a stroll through a public park on Vancouver Island.

The duchess can be seen smiling as she walks along with Archie and her two dogs.

The ‘images’ appeared on the front page of The Sun. The Duchess was also captured on video:

To be fair to the couple, this video and the filming thereof, does have a bit of a ‘stalker in the bushes’ feel to it.

You can almost hear the cameraperson breathing as they crouch in the foliage.

In fact, that’s exactly what happened:

Lawyers for the couple claim these were taken without her consent – and that the photographer was hiding in the bushes and spying on her.

They also claim there were previous attempts to photograph them inside their home using long range lenses and that paparazzi were permanently camped outside their home.

Harry and Meghan’s lawyers have also highlighted serious safety concerns about how the Canadian paparazzi have been driving while trying to capture images of the royals.

That’s a concern that calls to mind how Harry’s mom, Princess Diana, died – fleeing the press before crashing into a concrete pillar in a Paris tunnel.

Harry referenced this in his speech on Sunday, adding: “When I lost my mum 23 years ago, you took me under your wing. You’ve looked out for me for so long, but the media is a powerful force, and my hope is one day our collective support for each other can be more powerful because this is so much bigger than just us.”

Meghan and Harry are currently involved in a legal dispute with the Mail on Sunday in the UK over the publication of a private letter between Meghan and her father. Her father plans on testifying against Meghan in the upcoming trial.

In Canada, the law is on Meghan and Harry’s side. A “privacy act” in the Canadian province where Harry and Meghan are living enables them to take legal action against privacy intrusions.

The Canadian press has been warned.

    Happy Birthday, Noorie!
