While the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the lives of all South Africans, it has hit some harder than others.

A number of people decided that they couldn’t just sit by while those in poorer communities struggled, and their efforts have not gone unnoticed.

After hearing the call for community support and upliftment across South Africa during the COVID-19 pandemic, top live electronic act GoodLuck raised over R500 000 in donation support and food items for the public – feeding up to 5 000 people per day.

It was out of this that GoodLuckCares was born.

Now, GoodLuck, GoodLuckCares, and Valenture Institute have joined forces to find a deserving young South African learner and changemaker to receive a full scholarship to study at the Institute.

There, they’ll receive a world-class, globally recognised online high school education that rivals some of the best private schools in the world.

Juliet Harding of GoodLuck said the following about the collaboration:

“We’re incredibly excited to be able to work with Valenture Institute and search for a deserving change-maker across South Africa as part of our GoodLuckCares initiative – To change a young learners life by giving them the opportunity to have a solid, forward-thinking education is something we’ve always dreamed of and we now have the right partner to do this with!”

The initiative, GoodLuckCares, has gone from strength to strength. The partnership with the Institute grew out of an interview on the band’s #LuckDown live stream with Founder and CEO of Valenture Institute, Rob Paddock.

It was clear to Rob that GoodLuck’s community involvement and vision was aligned with that of the Institute in terms of encouraging a purpose-driven and impactful way of life.

Valenture Institute believes in providing more than just a quality online education – they’re dedicated to building and empowering a purpose-driven, global student body by equipping them to make the best of both their individual and collective futures.

‘We’re proud to be partnering with GoodLuck & GoodLuckCares to help make a sustainable impact and deliver future-fit education to a deserving young South African’, says Bradley Elliott, Valenture Institute CIMO.

GoodLuck, GoodLuckCares, and Valenture Institute will be awarding a deserving student with a R430 000 scholarship to study at the Institute.

The GoodLuckCares/Valenture Institute Scholarship is now live and accepting nominations from parents, learners, and the public for consideration.

To nominate a student, email the following to admissions@valentureinstitute.com with the subject line: ‘GoodLuckCares Valenture Institute Scholarship’:

    • The learner’s full name
    • A short motivational letter outlining why this young learner (grade 8 – 12) is deserving of the opportunity.

The Institute will keep reviewing applications until they’ve found the best candidate.

The lucky candidate will then be notified directly by Valenture Institute if they are successful.

    It’s as simple as that.
