Sea Point Streets Flooded As Burst Pipe Wreaks Havoc [Videos]

A burst pipe in Sea Point has left two roads flooded, and residents in the area without water.

It’s currently a bit of a wild day in Sea Point, where some residents have lost access to water, and not because they decided to get involved in the rates boycott.

Rather, a burst pipe has left both Main and St Johns roads flooded.

Per Cape Town Etc, those passing through the area before it was cordoned off have been forced to drive through a “flood of water”.

JWI.News says that teams from Cape Town Water Sevices and Disaster Risk Management are on the scene assessing the damage from the burst pipe.

The City of Cape Town confirmed that they’re looking into it:

Nothing captures the severity of the situation quite like a video:

There’s also this, posted just after 1:30PM:

They reckon the damage is extensive, and affected areas could be without water for an indeterminate amount of time while they repair the pipe. The roads around the pipe will remain closed.

Good luck out there, Sea Point.
