This evening, at 8PM, President Cyril Ramaphosa will address the nation.
According to a release from The Presidency, he will focus on “South Africa’s response to the coronavirus pandemic”.
The address follows a special sitting of Cabinet that considered recommendations of the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC) meeting.
Sources familiar with those discussions say the NCCC recommended harsher curfews, limits on the sale of alcohol, and reductions on the size of gatherings permitted, among other measures.
