So, there’s a pattern of accusing Meghan Duchess of Sussex of being a bully every time some or other scandal is in the works or anticipated.
Ahead of the release of the Jeffrey Epstein doccie which threatened to destroy the last shred of dignity that Prince Andrew was clinging to, and in the early days of Meghan and Harry’s controversial exit from Royal duty, a story emerged about the events leading up to the Royal Wedding.
That story did nothing to distract from the scandal surrounding Andrew, BTW.
The most recent anticipated Royal headache comes in the form of a “tell-all” interview with Meghan, Harry, and Oprahm which is due to air on Sunday.
The promotional clips that have been released give off a similar vibe to Princess Diana’s candid interview back in 1995 that severely damaged the Royal Family’s image.
Now that you’re all caught up, let’s look into the current allegations of bullying thrown Meghan’s way, via The Telegraph.
Apparently, she faced multiple complaints from members of her staff during her time as a working Royal.
In 2018, Jason Knauf, Meghan and Harry’s communications secretary at the time, submitted a formal complaint by email in an apparent bid to protect his staff.
“I am very concerned that the Duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year. The treatment of X was totally unacceptable. The Duchess seems intent on always having someone in her sights. She is bullying Y and seeking to undermine her confidence. We have had report after report from people who have witnessed unacceptable behaviour towards Y.”
Royal aides are said to have approached the press ahead of the Oprah interview because they believed that only “a partial version” was being portrayed of Meghan’s two years as a working member of the Royal Family.
The tension in Kensington Palace, they said, was so “febrile” that staff would be reduced to tears, with one aide telling a colleague in anticipation of a meeting with the Duchess: “I can’t stop shaking”.
Another aide claimed that it felt “more like emotional cruelty and manipulation, which I guess could also be called bullying”.
A spokesman for the Sussexes says that Meghan is “saddened by this latest attack on her character”, and especially because she is “someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma”.
“She is determined to continue her work building compassion around the world and will keep striving to set an example for doing what is right and doing what is good.”
Is it possible that she’s a bully and impossible to work with? Yes.
Is it possible that this is just another attempt to protect the Royal Family? Also, yes.
Should we care?
I’ll leave that up to you.
